History
Founded in 2006 by Captain Paul Russell, Dive Dojo was a fusion of his two passions when not flying long haul flights. These were Scuba Diving and Shindo Karate. Paul had his own symbol for his brand of Karate known as the way of the heart. His symbol lives on today in pictorial form on the wall of our divers hangout area and also on some of our older generation tee-shirts. Shindo was the name of the wooden bunker boat that served for many years before finally being relaced with a modern speedboat. Paul sadly passed away in 2019 and is sadly missed. The current owner Ron Loos, who learnt from the great man, continues his legacy today, albeit there is not so much Karate taking place at this time, but never say never.
“Life is short, you only live once, but if you do it right, once is all you need” -Captain Paul Russell
Another member of the Dive Dojo Hall of Fame was John Bennett, the first man to reach the 1000 feet depth barrier and a world record holder. John also lives on now in our memories.
“With the right training, anything is possible” -John Bennett
